Er erschien erstmals vor etwa 2.000 Jahren in Istrien. Der Name \u201eBiska\u201c bezieht sich auf die Mistel (<em>Viscum album<\/em>), die seit der Antike f\u00fcr ihre heilenden Eigenschaften bekannt ist. In Istrien wird Biska ausschlie\u00dflich aus brauner Mistel hergestellt, die auf Eichen w\u00e4chst.
